Just 30 minutes before MDMK leader Vaiko has decided to leave the DMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu. He joined hands with Jayalalitha's ADMK.
Soon after the meeting with Vaiko, Tamil Nadu CM told mediamen, "There are no permanent enemies in politics."
Uncertainty and confusion appeared to continue over the presence of Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) in the Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) led by DMK that consists of seven parties in Tamil Nadu.
In fact, Karunanidhi says, “The DMK initially agreed for 20 and not 16 as reported in one vernacular daily, but finally decided to spare another two seats and take the tally to 22 as final settlement to the MDMK which had sought 25 seats.“Since, we have to accommodate all our allies, it may not be possible to stretch any further and it was for the MDMK to decide whether 22 was agreeable or not,”
So MDMK decides to join in ADMK alliance.
This is going to be turning point for MDMK and Tamil Nadu politics. Even though it creates the big slash on DMK’s power dream it also changes the prominence of Vaiko between the people of Tamil Nadu. In soon we can expect more surprises like this.
